Went downtown. Stopped at Cassandra's but she wasn't home. Dressed as a Red Cross nurse. Iggy Pop at the Mosque Ballroom. Almost got trampled. White Boys and L'Amour at Benny's. Iggy showed up. Up til dawn.

Ricky's funeral at 9:00. Wasn't too bad. I kissed everyone "bye" one hour early because the clocks were wrong (no more DST.) Nervous. Train back to Richmond. Joe's Inn with David. Myron was there in costume. Fight with David about families.

David was on a shoot with John Henly in Norfolk. He didn't come home all night and he didn't call. Didn't sleep much. Very rainy night.

Took train to NY with David. Walked to Bob and Mac's apt. Dinner at Pete's Tavern. O.Henry wrote Gift of the Magi there. Walked around the Village and saw all the costumes. Had a drink at The Orchid.

In New York. Saw "Surrealism into Fashion" at FIT. Spectacular. Shopping in the Village. Bought sunglasses and a beautiful coat. Didn't dress for Halloween. In SoHo ran into Curt Marshall on a street corner. Kelly met us at the Prince St. Cafe. Out late.

In New York. Kathy snuck me into her room at The Summit. Drinks in the lobby w/her and Patricia. Took the subway to Mark Woodruff's to be interviewed for Taxi magazine. Nervous. Brandy. Good talk.

Work hard cleaning the house. David worked in the attic because we're getting the blow-in insulation. Only got a few trick-or-treaters. Gave them Reece's peanut butter cups.

David Curry told me to clear out Pinkney's office cuz he wants to move in. So insensitive about Henrietta not wanting to help. Did laundry and cleaned up. No candy for trick-or-treaters. (Bell rang once.)

1:30 meeting about Virginia Architectural Drawings lasted til after 5:00. Stir fry with frozen vegetables. Not great. Saw "As Black Women See It" at VMFA. Liked Howardena Pindell best.

Ruth's birthday celebration at Va. Beach. Swimming and hot tubbing at the Princess Anne. Wild party with masks. Ran and screamed on the beach in the dark.

Elizabeth called and said Mark Cox died. Rainy. Had a great time at the Halloween Holocaust Reunion at the Flood Zone. The Bow Ties were playing when we arrived. Everyone was in a good mood. Lots of costumes. Aiden as a matador was the best.

Wore Victorian mask at work. Everyone liked it. Bought some milky ways. We had 3 trick-or-treaters.

Taking care of Patty in McLean. Anne Olson brought by lunch--Chinese soup. They played Scrabble. I worked on xeroxes. We had a few trick-or-treaters. Watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. David totalled his Trooper.

Beautiful day. Went to Astra and Uptown Copy at lunch. Very pissed off that Mitzie had agenda info that she had been withholding. A few trick-or-treaters, including Molly as Heidi. We watched the Twin Peaks marathon.

Mitzie brought in cupcakes. We got zero trick-or-treaters. Party at Mona & Nick's. Fun. Danced with movie star Macaria. She looked fabulous. I was a harem girl, Cassandra a soldier, Octavia Zorro, and Mona a witch.

Baked butter crunch torte for Ruth. Bought a card catalogue at Southside Antique Mall. At 4:00 met Frances Whitehead. Very nice. Dressed as a harem girl and went to Ruth's. My cake was a big hit. Mostly talk to Roland.

In Deltaville. I was first up after David and the Murphys. Gorgeous day talking on the dock. We left about 4:00. Took a nap, then went to Mama Zu's Halloween party with Larkin. Not too much fun.
