I had to catch a bus but went to the wrong station. Decided to stay over night instead of taking the Tways bus which would make me too late. To Bob West's. Talk and drank beer on porch w/Ted, Bob and; Cindy (of Terry and ______). I thought my turq. and white swimsuit was lost (in Chicago hotel). For a while I thought my white metal beaded purse was lost.

Work. Read What Witches Do. Boo came over for a French lesson. Robert came. Robert, David and I talked til 2 a.m. Didn't go to Tortilla Flat.

Work. Slow. Sunny. I called Jen and Julie in N.Y. My dinner date w/Mark W. was off. They had company f/Phila. Pam and April came over. We ordered a pizza. Fell asleep early. They spent the nite. I worked to Ferris's w/April only to learn it's closing down!

The Cliff House on Daddy. Cold bus wait. Cab to St. Francis. Joint passed to us from another cab driver when we drove by him. St. Fran. was elegant. I loved it. Top of the Mark. Beautiful view.

My last day working at VCU. They had a little cinnamon roll party for me. Lunch w/Macaria. Lasted 1_ hours. She had 3 martinis. Drank beer at home. Excited. Joe's Inn w/Pam. Nap. Woke at 1:15. Had wanted to get up and hear the Bow Ties.

Work 10:00-5:30. Pam and April came by. David came home early from the beach. At work I felt uneasy about David but it was unfounded. Dinner at Macaria's. She made us chicken. We drank wine, then beer. Saw Boo when coming home f/work. Said hi.

Martha and Richard weren't in the office. I learned that Howard gets Rosemary's office because he's a man. Disgusted. Fun time at work. Sandra and Pat brought up Throttle - were impressed that I work for it. Rode bus home with David M. Asked Peter to come over tomorrow nite. David made steak dinner. We got in a fight about Bud and Estelle.

Bridal Luncheon at Mommy's for Sharon, Carol, Esther, and me. Champagne and a scallop dish. Sharon gave us beautiful amethyst earrings and a St. Christopher's medal for my birthday. David came @ 4:00. He was cute. Got ready for rehearsal dinner. We were late. Bella Vista Italian restaurant after. I had veal. Talked to Joanna Heitmann. Slept at Daddy's.

Went back to work but it was about 50 degrees and I had a remission. Bridal shower for Karen. I left after it. Chicken soup. Rest. David and I ate dinner at Joe's. Editorial meeting at Dale's. I kicked my shoe off into his stereo. Very embarrassed. To Peter's house.

Fun bus ride dntn in the a.m. Wore hand-painted tie f/Mary. A big hit. Bought glads and cleaned house to get ready for Rbt. to come. Prev's in Shafer Ct. Sorta fun. Alford's last date. Party at Henley and Savage. Loved the oysters. Talk to photo people. Rbt. came.

Hard day at work. Typed a letter over and over. Frustrated. It was just Friday the 13th. Bad weather tonite. Went to Pam and Tom's after wk. Watched T and A get ready to see The Nutcracker. Pam was sick. I came home and ordered a pizza.

At lunch went to MandR Willow Lawn and bought Mac and Bob's wedding present. Shopped at Main St. Station. Bought some pretty good stuff.

Brought "Friday the 13th" proposal for 1708 into work. Pinkney noticed and was interested. We spent a lot of the day talking about patterns and odds of it being Friday the 13th. Went to Regency w/David tonite and bought navy tablecloth for round table.

Pinkney's car got towed - so did Margo's. Polly left work after lunch. David and I ate at Bogart's. Had the Rosie Sayer. Good. Got ready for color copier being in my office on a trial basis starting Wed. Saw Pee Wee on Joan Rivers.

The things I planned to wear didn't look right. Took a long time getting ready for work. Someone left garlic on my chair to ward off evil spirits. Vance finally confessed. @ 4:30 Bruce came up to find a MOMA Loan file. The sculpture "Jason" was stolen. They don't know how long it's been gone. Met Larkin and Greg for drinks at T.J.'s. Pepper Stoly back at her place.

Vance and I had lunch at Hoops. It was o.k. He gave me some jacks. Called Collectors' Circle members who haven't RSVP'd. Had dinner at John's Place. Pinkney and Henrietta came in as we left.

Good Friday Ordinary day. Work thru lunch. Tortellini w/pesto for dinner. Red wine. Stayed up late unpacking my new china and reorganizing kitchen.

Day off. Rented car to go to the Lake. Stopped in Spottsylvania. Lunch at Taco Bell. Bought henna. Saw "The Jetsons" (movie). Celeste sat on my lap the whole time.

Worried about alot of parts of my tie piece. Cancelled driving class so I can deliver wk. Stayed up til 3:30 getting everything just right. Mary Holland will lend pedestal f/Robinson House.

Toilet overflowed. Squabbled w/David. Picked up my car but the brakes still squeak. Slow day at wk. Pot luck for Leo at Lori's. Nice group of people. Lots of red wine. I brought chocolate fudge pies.

Couldn't eat all day. Nervous about my opening at Key. Haircut by Jessica. Drank champagne. Wore cocktail dress from Ruth. Lots of people came.

Wrote a memo to Buildings and Grounds about getting Maggie's file cabinets painted. Tonite I came down with a bad sore throat. Had been planning to go to Key Gallery and buy a drawing by the Tinklers for David for Christmas.

My sunglasses broke. Lunch with Steve at India House. Got slides ready to send Lori. Leftover chicken. To bed early. David and Ted went to hear Beex. Back at 2:30.

Carla W. called. Invited us to dinner. William and Macaria both called to say happy Friday the 13th. She invited us to dinner. Blow up at the office about typing Malcolm's book on Turner. David's birthday dinner at Helen's. Lots of people there. Loved the oysters.

Finished packing. Drove to Patty's. She gave us lunch and drove us to Dulles. Strawberry daiquiries at Friday's. Didn't sleep on the flight to London. Read Vanity Fair and watched State and Main.
